Berkeley’s Bachelor of Cosmetology prepares students for the diverse field of Beauty Therapy. With this being an ever expanding
industry the need for well trained employees and managers is also growing.
The course offers a broad range of customer service and management modules as well as the theoretical basics of a wide range
of cosmetology treatments and disciplines.
Emphasis is placed throughout the degree on understanding the entire process of gaining employment at, organizing, managing
and running a successful treatment centre.
RECOGNITION of PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
A student, who has a Prior Learning achieved via classroom tutorial, vocational education, professional experience, research,
business training, or professional membership, may be granted credits in our degree programs. This will enable the student to take
fewer numbers of modules and save tuition fees.
For assessment on your prior learning, please send verifiable documents, which acknowledge your previous education and
professional experience. Documents, which are not in English, must be accompanied with an accurate English translation.
OPPORTUNITIES:
Successful completion of this training program provides participants with the basic skills and knowledge to assist gaining
employment in all areas of cosmetology, or the general beauty treatment industry working in spas, clinics, salons or hotels.
MODULES
Due to the emphasis of this degree course being skills based a number of the modules are to be completed through “hands on”
experience in an active/working salon, spa or hotel. The modules that involve vocational skills as well as classroom tuition are
marked with a “(V)”
Students studying the Bachelor of Cosmetology must complete the 20 core modules and choose 6 of the electives. All of the
elective modules involve intensive vocational training as well as theoretical classroom tuition.
