Bachelor of Financial Investment and Management

The Bachelor of Financial Investment and Management allows the student to gain a broad understanding of the investment industry
and the management of finance involved. The choice of majors allows students to specialize in the area of the industry they are
either working in or wish to seek a career in. Because of the range and breadth of study the Bachelor of Financial Investment and
Management gives graduates opportunities to find employment in the following industries:-

•        Banks and Building Societies
•        Insurance Companies
•        Securities Companies
•        Futures Trading Companies
•        FOREX Trading Companies
•        Managed Unit Trusts within Companies
•        Real Estate Companies
•        Pension Funds within Companies
•        Commission Houses
•        Any Large Corporation Using Financial Instruments to Minimize Risk
•        Companies dealing in Commodities (Oil, Gold, Metals, Coal, Etc)

The study consists of 18 Core Modules and a choice to specialize in one of the 4 majors listed above, by completing the study with
a further 6 specialized modules. The Major is completed with a thesis of 3 – 5,000 words with accompanying charts to back up the
theory and research.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

•        A student, who has a Prior Learning achieved via classroom tutorial, vocational education, professional experience,
research, business training, or professional membership, may be granted credits in our degree programs. This will enable the
student to take fewer numbers of modules and save tuition fees
•        For assessment on your prior learning, please send verifiable documents, which acknowledge your previous education and
professional experience. Documents, which are not in English, must be accompanied with an accurate English translation

This Bachelor Program is designed for Professionals already involved in the Banking, Investment Trusts, Securities, FOREX and
Pensions Industries. Alternatively individuals wishing to broaden their Education but have already proven track record in Business,
Mathematics or Science may also take part in this Bachelor Program.

Prerequisites

Students wishing to take part in this program of study must have an understanding of English (very high level passively as a
minimum) to study major financial markets and the large amount of research into technical analysis that is only available in English.
Due to the globalisation of this industry any persons wishing to pursue a career in investments would have to become fluent in
English as a second language to succeed and further their careers.
A good quality Internet connection and computer for personal study at home is essential as the research and assignments will be
almost entirely Internet based. The minimum requirement to run the necessary programs and platforms would be 40GB hard drive,
512Mb Ram and Windows XP or Vista operating system
