Master of Hospital Administration - MHA
Consisting of 6 Core Modules + 1 Major;
Total credits needed = 60 including Thesis
MHA Degree Graduate typically pursues managerial or executive positions in health care.
This MHA from Berkeley University is unique in its format and offers the student the option to major in their chosen field. The
student is required to complete the 6 Core modules and one of the Major options and finalize their studies with their thesis on their
chosen option.
The Department of Health Policy and Administration was one of the first four departments created when UNC-Chapel Hill’s School
of Public Health was officially established on June 7, 1940, making it the first school of public health at a public institution. The
School was originally a division within the School of Medicine and its first director was Milton J. Rosenau, one of the premier public
health figures in the U.S. in the early 20th Century. Taught first by physicians, the department expanded its faculty in the sixties to
include experts in public administration, sociology, health care finance and health care administration as the demand for health
administrators increased dramatically from the creation of the medical care legislation.
STUDENT ACCEPTANCE
Students with a Bachelor Degree or 10 years in a Senior Management position. The prospective student should apply to Berkeley’
s International office in Australia and include C.V., copies of educational Certifications and a minimum of 200 words on the Option
they wish to study and a brief of their planned thesis.
RECOGNITION of PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
A student, who has a Prior Learning achieved via classroom tutorial, vocational education, professional experience, research,
business training, or professional membership, may be granted credits in our degree programs. This will enable the student to take
fewer numbers of modules and save tuition fees.
For assessment on your prior learning, please send verifiable documents, which acknowledge your previous education and
professional experience. Documents, which are not in English, must be accompanied with proper English translation.
